I love Foster's "Carroll of the Bells we sing a different arrangement that in the church choir.
I learned that the RI Alco came with a nonpowered unit in a set and that the Chessie F7 came with a B, I think that was Tyco.
Neat video, Thanks for the work!

Great stuff

My suggestion would be to focus on some of the better pictures from each page as well as showing the whole page...some of them were quite impressive and worthy of a closer look.

This year was the first year in quite some time that the Sears Wishbook has some "real" train sets, not just that New Bright gunk.

I'm pretty sure the two HO sets being offered are both made by Bachmann...

Awesome vid Brian! I saw a CN C430 on one of the pages...so it did make a catolog appearance...even if it wasn't a Tyco catolog

That must've been a cool thing to look through at christmas. All I look through is the PC insider's report....this year there was a tiny article that said "Sorry train fans. No new set this year. Blah Blah Blah...yada yada yada...something about Boxcar Bo" O_o Well then..............

Shaygetz -- I am working on re-doing that video with close ups of the trains. I am having to crop and resize so it may take a day or 2. Will extend video time.

Dachez-- Those pages brought back vivid memories for me and hopefully others. It was a cool thing in my generation. THose books had the coolest train sets and other toys. I would like to get vol 2 up before christmas--but i do not have resources at this time to get the missing years--There is hope that someone has those catalogs stashed in a closet. I am going to check my library to see if they kept any local Sears and Pennys as we did not have Eatons or MOntgomery Wards in my area growing up.

MM -- Have not seen this years wishbook. I'm mainly focused on the late 60's through 80's Christmas Wishbooks.

Alcofan-- Thanks Davis Fosters instrumental version--I love it. It is upbeat and has a good rhythm to it.

Thank You all for the comments--Stay Tuned!!!!!!

Brianstyco,
I see something different each time I look at it. Thanks. I never really noticed all the accessories back then.

My grandmother found an old Eaton's catalogue in her basement, from 1976. The pages were still "crisp", I mean the thing felt brand new.

Unfortunately, it was a Spring/Summer issue, so there were no real toys to speak of...however, there were some sweet looking 10-speed bicycles, scary bright-blue polyester kid's suits, and of course the latest in reel-to-reel recording tape technology.
