hi not being from states and still learning can anyone tell me what name this type of bogie is called,its off the model pwer metal series and as you can see it split dead center,what make would you recommend as a replacement,ken

I'm sure somebody here will be able to give you a specific call on this, but I believe they are Bettendorf trucks. And I may not be spelling that name correctly. They are, as I understand, the older style truck and the caps at the ends of the axles on the sideframe were filled with oil for lubrication.

The modern roller-bearing truck is now the standard and I think only allowed possibly type of wheel on today's railroads.

Am I in the right neighborhood in my explanation on this, anyone?
