These things are pricey...but if there anything like there O gauge counterparts they will run forever, pull like a Mack and be super smooth runners with excellent sounds.

I wish they where cheaper.The discounters who handle the MTH O gauge line claim there is not much room on these.

Even buying direct from MTH, the dealer mark up is short. MTH is also available to dealers via Horizon Hobby and Walthers and the mark-up is even shorter from those distributors.
Most all O-Scale and for that matter any large-scale I've seen has a short mark up. Atlas, for example, had a shorter discount on their O-Scale line versus the HO- and N-Scale offerings. This is typical for anybody in big trains, maybe with the exception of Bachmann.
