Hi Guys:
Another Vintage layout feature for you to consider. Not real complex, but I'm posting it because it illustrates the notion of what I call a "Satellite" layout design. What that means is you locate operational areas in places that may be well seperated but joined by a very narrow perhaps even temporary corridor that is in place only during ops sessions.
Anyway without further ado, from April 1957 the "Crooked Mountain Line"

Comments and suggestions and especially discussion is encouraged!
Hope Y'all enjoy!

| I love Robert Hegge's layouts and modeling. I've never been a big 'traction' nut, but in the early-mid 70's, I guess when the Crooked Mountain Lines was at its zenith, I thought his modeling was as close to taking a prototypical photograph as possible. Of course modeling methods have changed and improved a lot, which to me makes his work that much more incredible. His layout and photos always evoked feelings, emotions...a mood was set, which I would say is at the top of the hierarchy of model railroading goals.

Hi Adams:
I think you nailed it. Hegge's work struck a chord with a lot of people. I like your articulation of the "tone" he set. Popular amongst the "Traction" crowd!
