Hi All,

I have seen trains marked with Playart on the bottom in Model Power boxes. Was or is the there a connection between the two?

Thanks
Mike

Hello,

Model Power is just a wholesale and importer of trains made somewhere in the world. In many cases these trains were marked with the actual manufacturer on the bottom.

For Model Power, models were produced by the following:

Roco (Austria)
Mehanotehnika (Yugoslavia), today Mehano
Lima (Italy)
Playart (China)

Playart was also producing for other Markets, like Australia (freight cars based on US-Models), South Africa (apparently, they made the Lifelike Blue Train), Europe (strange Lima copies) and Japan (Bullet Train and a Cl. 485 MU). For some pictures of Playart, you my check out my homepage...
