Ok guys, help me out, have not applied decals in a long time, years in fact...memory going with age...so see if I have this right...cut decal, soak in h2o with a drop of soap (wetter), apply to item, cool so far... now have the softener and hardner liquid, when to apply the softener, when still wet, or blot and apply or wait until dry? then when to apply the hardner...redoing an old EL boxcar with an old set of decals, they are hard to find now a days...so want to do it right the first time...do not have any extras..thanks for help...Garret

Puppyfang = Yes soak decals in water and leave enough on one end to slide decal onto surface w/o touching. and i would not blot it--let iit dry naturally. I use Microscale decal solutions pictured below. The blue bottle goes onto surface first then you slide decal on top of it and take the softest brush and brush decal once you have it centered. You then brush some more solution on top of decal. You then use the red bottle if you have uneven or rivet simulated or other uneven surfaces. This softens decal to form around the unweven or like surface area. Once brushed on--do not touch as decal becomes very soft and will tear after about 1 minute. Once dry--perfect. I use a small dish and fill with water level of about 1/4 inch or less to soak decal to get loose. I use distilled or drinking water for decal as both are pure with no minerals and such. There is also a decal tool for placing decal onto surfacing w/o touching with your finger. Be careful as to not let decal roll wheh removing from sheet. You must use the solutions while decal is still wet. My custom police locomotive is the first thing i have decaled since 1992 -- talk about a brain fart trying to remember how to do it w/o messing up. Hope this has been of some help[:D]
