I think someone on here was looking for a "Demonstrator Locomotive" locater for model trains.
Here is one company who offers quite a few types of diesel locomotives, both N Scale and HO Scale:

| I love the demonstrators about half way down the first page. I saw lots of those around bases in Europe.
