Here's a start, suggestions welcome.
I've made a nice template and we can start with this. So far I have sections for Upcoming Events and a Featured Article.
http://www.tycoforums.com/Newsletter/Jan2008/Jan2008.htm
It's a "living document" so be sure to refresh for the latest look.

I've already thought of a few easy sections for each month.
Train Humor - Original Cartoons/Humor from our members.
Buy of the month - The concensus choice on the steal of the prior month by one of our forum members.
Custom showcase - Photo and link to a forum members customization project.

I already zipped this suggestion in the sign-up...
In the News Letters, How about adding a direct link to this forum? Perhaps have an icon we could click from our desktop... Anyway...
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

The logos are hyperlinked. I have an icon which takes me directly to the forums. Add the forum homepage to your favorites, you can then drag and copy that favorite to your desktop or quicklauch bar. If you copy it to the quicklaunch bar I know it keeps its favicon. When I copy to the desktop it's just a generic icon, not sure why.

| I got the private message, but when I tried to subscribe the response was that my email address was already subscribed. If I'm in already - great!

Oh, it means that in the email message you sent, I made the suggestion in my response, for the links. I think I also sent the query to the PM. It is basically a redundant statement.

I'm not sure if this is going to happen or not. I'm still awaiting on a couple of things.

OK, I got the go ahead. The January edition will actually make it out on time, well sort of, it's the correct month. I think we should release the monthly newsletter the first Sunday of every month.
I'd like to get some contributions from a variety of sources.
