Today is a Holiday in the south. When snow falls-everything usually closes. My work told us on wednesday to stay home thursday. While most of you get snow daily during the winter - In the south it is different. WE recieve snow - but not in the amounts like the central and northern parts of the US or Canada recieve. All of the schools are closed as well as a lot of buisnesses. We do not have the equipment to keep all roads open-so what equipment we do have just keeps the interstates and main roads to hosptials clear as possible. Here are a few pics-- View from my front porch 2nd view from my porch

Nice pics--Here in the Dallas area, we haven't had any snow yet this year--just some big flurries on Thanksgiving which didn't deter my kids from going out to run around in it as if it were a major blizzard! Like you, it takes about 1/2 inch of snow to shut everything down here! I remember living in St. Louis as a kid and going to school with a foot or more on the ground.

Well despite being in the DEEP SOUTH of Canada![:D] [:D] [:D] We got lots of snow this year. At least compared to the last couple.
The city of Toronto is so well equipped that even if a foot of sow falls over night the roads are clear by morning and within 24 hours even little secondary and residential streets have been plowed!
Pretty much take over a foot to stop school buses and kids within walking distance would be exppected to still get there. [V] [V] [V]
Poor little sods!
When I lived in NJ they'd close the highway system after a couple inches![:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] Used to laugh my ass off at that!.
Btw, Brian that's a lovely view. You're a luck man!
