I have a room where my toys are located and I am starved for space. There was a 4ft x 8ft table in the center and I piled junk under it till I couldn't stand it anymore. I went to Staples this weekend because they had a sale on bookcases. I bought (10) short white ones on sale for $17.99 each and built then up. I set them in a rectangle and placed the 4x8 on top and it looks like a built-in storage/shelf unit. I can add shelves as needed and now my TYCO stuff fits in my toy room.... fun, fun, fun.... -Bob

Wow... that really looks fantastic. What a neat display! I'd be lost in there for hours I'm sure.
Although, I'd probably start with a few items I spot peeking out from those shelves that haven't been seen before ;) You're tipping your hands now! LOL

My display puts GG1's together, F-7'S together, GP-20's together, etc. I am in the process of filling in the shelves. All 20 shelves will be filled with this collection. There are over 30 cabooses alone.... -Bob

Sorry I dont have anything to really display but I have a lage collection as well. Alittle over 200 cars most MIB`s and around 25 locomotives and a hundred or so building kits and accessories and 98% of it is packed away in boxes ( I guess thats my cheap way of displaying it LOL ). My mother bought me a nice diplay case last year for xmas that I could put alot of my uncataloged cars in and here it is.

Nice, TycoPrototypes, This is what I need to do. How wide are those shelves?--I'm wondering if I could put them together in a way to support my 4x6 layout, and have a nice rim around the edge like you do. I can also envision some kind of plexiglass doors on one or more of them to protect some of the more treasured new-in-box stuff.

Looks great, I need to find room to display my collection. (I would probably have to rent a building) Here in AZ. there is a problem with dust so most of it would need to be behind glass.

Ray, I am lucky that dust is not an issue. A static deionizer in the home heating ductwork really keeps dust to a minimum. -Bob

Alex you have some neat Chessie power and rolling stock shown. You've probably operated most of that power in reality. That's a handsome case.
What a nice display Bob. I had Aurora stuff when I was a kid. Still have the set my brother and I had. Was a 4 lane set with steering wheel type controllers. The cars are gone I think , track and most of the stryfoam box and transformer intact.

All the talk about Aurora stuff makes me want to dig it all out of storage. The set you have set up in the middle of the table looks like the first set I got for Christmas. In my late 20s I asked all my old friends if they still had thier cars and bought most of what they had left. A few of us did some racing for a few months, the thrill wore off for most of them. I do need to find some more large radius curves to build a 6 lane track.
