Hello all,
As a vet, I understand the value of moral. It's hard to get up every morning to do your job as a soldier, when you feel forgotton. Here is your chance to send a card to a trooper in Iraq and let him or her know you are behind them all the way. It's free and easy. Go to this link for Zerox http://www.letssaythanks.com
Thanks Hypoponera, USAF

Hey Hypoponera:
I was Regular Army (Canadian) 8th Hussars Armored, you guys would call it Armored Cav. Spent some time opposite Ivan in the late `70's on the West/East German border. You're right about the moral. The poppy we wear on our jackets and hats for Rememberance Day (You guys call it Veterans Day) I've decided to leave on till our kids come home from Afgahnistan. They deserve it. So do your lads in Iraq, and all our brothers who have stood to post.
Gareth (M/Cpl.Ret.)

Sorry guys, I didn't even think of troops from countries other then the US. Hopefully you can locate a similar site for your guys! But thanks to all those who have sent a card. I am sure it will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the link...we are currently entertaining two young marines thru the USO, a program they've put together to give a place at the Thanksgiving table to any service personnel who'd like a home cooked meal and are stationed too far away from home. Only bad thing they did was give us a Florida Gator fan...kinda hard to take when your house bleeds LSU purple and gold[:D]

Thanks for the link... there are times when I wish I had served or enlisted and I have great respect and thanks for those who have. I wish I'd heard of that USO dinner thing seeing as how my southern gal wife cooked a meal for an army, even though we stayed home. So sending a card is the least I can do.
(FWIW... I notice that Norfolk Southern is one of the sponsors too).

Hey GIC & others:
Not everyone is called to serve. I signed up for one reason, I thought we were gonna have to fight the Soviets in Europe. After 3 years and the election of Reagen it became more clear it wasn't likely so I finished my tour and came home.
I guess what I mean is ther's a time and a place... not everyone is supposed to be there.
