Picking up from the LotW Nov. 11-18 thread that began discussing Train Miniature, here's another of the company's ads...

I believe the Train Miniature of Illinois is the second life for the company. The original company HQ was La Mesa, CA as seen in their ads. I wanna say the TM of Illinois hits around 1980, but I will look through magazines to confirm.

Hey Tony
Thanks for the memories!
In my youth I started with Tyco but quickly switched to Roundhouse, Athern, and Train Miniature and seeing these vintage ads brought back many a fine memory of building and running these kits. I really liked the billboard series of Train Minitures and vividly remember a wine car set of three that had early to new style cars, my favorite car being a garish purple modern that got alot of attention from my friends and adults. I also remember a Libbys billboard that was pushing an add slogan about that time. These kits were so much more entertaing than the RTR Tycos of the time as they took a little skill which personalized my railroad with a toothy ten years olds grin "I Built That" Something about building it gave it more ownership and more aditional license to crow about it.
