I'm hoping to start working on my new layout soon. Its definitely up there on my "to-do" list. One of the things I'd like to have on it is overhead wires. I don't need the ones that actually carry power through them...just some for decoration. Anyone know of a company who makes some and where I could get them??

Marklin and Viessmann are the two better ones out there.

Ok, I'm looking at the prices on the link Shaygetz gave me and...[B)]....$5 for one pole!?

Ken: Scratchbuilding seems to be the way to go. I tried making a couple poles last night and then stretching thread between them. Here's what I got:

I'll have to find a better way to get the "wire" on there, but right now I'm more interested in the poles.

I'm gonna change a couple things on the poles so they match some pics I found, but I think I got the basic idea. [:P]

Any thoughts? Ideas?

Now that I could handle[:D] What is it using for poles...brass wires? I fooled around a little more with the ones I made. What I came up with was this:

I was trying to make it resemble this.

I guess I'll try makin some the way the "2guyz" do it, and see which i'm better at.

Looks good! As for cheap, strong pole material, you might want to try wire coat hangers.

Wire coat hanger...thats not a bad idea[:p] I've kinda scrapped this idea though...for now atleast. I've got the track down, and I'm working on a mountain. After seeing how it looks so far, I think the poles would make the layout look kinda cramped. At some point though I plan to build a small layout with overhead, so when I do that I'll look into this a little more.
