Hey Guys,

I recently got a Chessie 630 but it doesn't have the coupler holders. Are these a seperate piece or are my truck covers just broke? If these are serperate pieces anyone have a pic of what they look like, to see if I have some in my junk.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Some pics would be helpful, as both scenarios are possible.

Look in "GICs Corner" for the topic on Super 630s... all you need to know (with pics) is in there.

The first two releases / years of the 630 had separate coupler pockets. The second year switched to the standard Tyco Powertorque motor and silver trucks... with the separate coupler pocket. By year three, the coupler pocket was integrated into the standard truck cover... but is easily broken.

The first-year 630s are rare. And so are those unique coupler pockets. But on all the others (including the second year), you can swap the truck cover from ANY powetorque Tyco diesel. Some other engines used the separate pockets, but it will be far easier to get a scrap engine with a decent truck cover.
