I know this happened in Germany but if it gets around to other forums it will be less likely that it will be sold to unsuspecting modelers...
Hello Everybody,
my first posting on this forum has a sad reason : It is about the theft on the first German US-Convention in Rodgau.
I am very sorry for Horst Meier, someone has stolen two engines of his, his hand - customized insider - bigboy #4013 und his hand customized Lionel Gas - Turbine #61, the link is here :

Theft
At Last something in my own matter : During the Convention ( on Saturday evening ) the most characteristic engines have been chosingly stolen from my own layout : the AC - Insider BigBoy # 4013 and the Lionel Gas - Turbine "Veranda" # 61. I am very upset about this extraordinary "thank you" of an US-Fan, because of this special appreciation for my deeds for the convention.
To the thief :
I wish, that someone has taken notice of this theft and contributes this to the community. Otherwise someone will see the engines in your home ! You're not able to invite anybody ! Trying to sell them will not work, cause too many people know now and the usual places like ebay, etc will be watched, too
May you have short circuits for all times !
To everyone else :
I would appreciate any hint, even anonymous.
