Well, I had a great day today. I was at the annual train show at algonquin College this morning for 2 hours, and I think I did pretty well.

I picked up a pair of Tyco ACL F-7's (1 powered, 1 dummy) for my ACL streamliner set, a Ralston Purina "chug chug" car (or w/e its called), a Tyco CPR steam engine, and an awesome Athearn Diesel Rail Car.[:D]

Other than it being Athearn I know nothing about this. Date? Repaint? Value?

Here's the CPR steam engine. If I run it without smoke fluid will this kill the smoke generator? What kind of smoke fluid...I have Life-Like Model Train smoke (the fluid is purple), will this work???

Cheez:

The RDC looks great and is probably a Hi-F unit like your kid-brothers GP7 Santa Fe. Rubber band drive. the steamer, is that a 2-8-0 Consolidation? or an 0-8-0 switcher?

Cool VIA car. The purple smoke fluid will work. Do not know about running dry. Some units will be damaged w/o running fluid. See you have some of the Best model train oil made=Labelle

Gareth: I'm not sure if its a Hi-F drive. Its gear-driven, not rubber bands. The steamer is a 0-8-0.

Brian: Thanx. Fluid goes in through under the bell right? I'll have to find one of my things that looks like a needle to put the fluid in.[:p]

Hey Cheez:

know what. It's not in the original box! That box dates from 60's or earlier. VIA didn't exist till 76? so it's a newer geared RDC in an older box.

Nice 0-8-0. Who made it!? OK, saw the Tyco!

Thanx Brian

Gareth: The 0-8-0 is a Tyco![:D]

The Railcar might be repainted. I'm not sure...the yellow ends look original, but the stripes on the side are a little wavy.
