Hi All,
The great one has done it again. She gave me 2 RS11 dummy engines today. One is an AHM Southern Pacific. The other is a Santa Fe. I have no idea who made it. It has MADE IN YUGOSLAVIA on the bottom and what looks like three A's in a triangle shape. The trucks and wheels are plastic. See picture.

Any thoughts on the mfr. and age would be great.
Thanks Mike

Hey Mike. I have one of these in CPR paint. I've got some Mehano engines with the same triangle markings on the bottom, so I'm pretty sure its made Mehano. Not sure about the date though.

Hi ken:
You nailed it. It's a "2" no battery boxes on the running boards! Looks nothing like an 11. Notice the transverse Stack in your pic? Means liquid cooled turbocharger as opposed to the earlier air-cooled in-line stack.

Hi All,
Thanks for the info. I don't know why I called it an RS11. I knew it was an RS2[:o].

I believe this red and silver Santa Fe RS-2 could be either AHM or Model Power. Both imported the same Mehano Yugoslovian-made model. AHM had it first and later it was in the Model Power line.
AHM originally sold a blue and yellow freight scheme painted ATSF, but around 1980 it was pictured in catalogs in passenger red and silver warbonnet. Think Model Power had both paints over the years too.
Here's a link to the AHM RS-2 page... http://tycotrain.tripod.com/ahmhoscaletrainscollectorsresource/id31.html
The red and silver Santa Fe RS-2 would likely carry AHM's 16361 stock number, and again was part of the line beginning around 1980.
