I bet they would. I often recommend using the Athearn GP9 to repower the GP20s, and the holes in the side sills of the Walthers GP9 appear to match the lugs on the Athearn frame. I am guessing the Walthers GP9 was originally the Cox one from the 1970s that used the Athearn drive.

Yep, the Walthers Trainline GP9's are made from what used to be the Cox GP9. In fact, most of Walthers Trainline series is old Cox tooling... "A place for everything, everything in its place."
