I have four Atlas F7's. 2 are custom painted Seaboard System and 2 are SCL factory paint. The SCL pictured is the first true ho scale locomotive i bought with birtday money in 1980. Still runs like it did when purchased. This engine turned me against Tyco at that time due to its performance. All are the Atlas/Roco which have the slight wine when running-a pleasant sound for these powerhouse's. The 2 Seaboard Systems were purchased locally from a police officer who has a large model railroad in his basement modeled on the Southern RR. A local film company used his layout to film a school bus training video of a bus being hit by a train. The video used his GP9 striking a bus at one of his crossings and then special effects were added. The video is still in use today for NC school bus drivers training. I have another mint in box SCl in storage which is not in pictures.

I remember having a Rio Grande GP40 from the Atlas Roco offerings of the mid '70s. That GP40 ended up running nearly everything on my layout for a time, as it performed so smoothly. My other power of those days was AHM, Athearn, Cox, Bachmann and TYCO. Still have a few of the '70s Atlas Roco pieces and they today still run smooth as silk. Great Stuff.

Hey Guys:

I aquired recently three Atlas/Roco units. I had a shell for a GP38 High Hood in CNR paint which Tony ID'd and I needed a chassis for so I got one which was NOS. I had wanted since a young fella in the 70's a UP SD24 by Atlas and again I grabbed a NOS example;

The photo is by Ebay seller GGGpers (John) a best seller trust me!)

and finally a CP FP-7.
These guys represent the most modern of my Vintage stuff as I kind of draw the line around 1975. Smoth runners all!

G.

I've said it before, I will repeat it...

Those Atlas Roco Motors were created for ailerons for prop-fighter planes.
Those Atlas Roco locomotives were built to last... the next century, even.

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.
"I love your catenary!"
Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
