When Detroit had numerous trains arrive and depart daily. Around 1930.
Decades later service was greatly reduced. Trains no longer stopped in the front of the station. Moved to the side of the station with few tracks left. Around 1990.
No more passenger service. Those few trains moved to a new but much smaller station two miles away. Around 2000. But better times ahead.
After two decades work started to bring the station back to its original glory. No passenger trains but freight trains still pass by. Photo taken June 2024.
Plans are to continue its transformation to a beautiful destination in Detroit. Detroit is back with better times ahead. Anticipated completion around 2027.
