Last week I posted an older Bachmann Christmas set powered by an FT diesel. This week the CHristmas theme continues with the currently catalogued Jingle Bell Express.

The set includes Bachmann's venerable 0-6-0 painted in red and green, three cars, and caboose. It is shown here topping the grade at Cedar Cliff on the Cumberland terminal. The photo is staged as the layout is DCC but the locomotive is not (yet.) But the train is appropriate for what this little engine can actually pull up the stiff 4% grade here. The cars are all the standard Bachmann cars found in their other train sets, and not the upgraded Silver Series.

The locomotive and tender in a rather bright but tasteful paint scheme. Those with sharp eyes will notice the broken pilot beam. I bought this set used for a very good price, and this was the only damaged part. Fortunately Bachamnn's parts store has replacements in stock, and it will get replaced whem my order arrives on Friday.

40 foot boxcar. I thought only the Rio Grande had cookie boxes.

North Pole Dairy tank car, because you can't have cookies without milk.

Silver Bell Mining hopper car. The coal load insert is painted silver as well.

The caboose in this set is different from the other one. It lacks the gold railings and ladders, and has a dark green stripe above the windows.

Given the old Christmas tradition that kids on the naughty list get coal in their stockings, they could have left the coal load as coal in the hopper car.
