I decided to make an addition to the Carnival dio. I spotted an odd Christmas decoration at Goodwill with Santa in a hot air balloon. I only used the balloon portion from it. The basket I cut down to size from a wicker/straw doll hat which I found at Hobby Lobby. Hopefully, it approximates a hot air balloon basket well enough. A little super glue, some fishing line, a few O scale people, and voila. Instant hot air balloon.

Really like your adapted re-use and customization of the balloon. I myself adapted a micro-machine balloon as a Re-Max Reality sign. It's not what you start with, but what you end up with. Master Of Plasticville
