I finally got one - a rare Tyco yellow Burlington Northern 50' box car, scored for under 12 bucks on Ebay!

I'm pretty sure that's a Strasburg Rail Road car.

Sorry, I couldn't let that one slide! It's my local tourist line. I practically grew up there and at the RR Museum of PA right across Route 741.

Congrats, RP. I didn't know the yellow version existed. Is that from the brown box era?

Thanks Brian! Yes, I believe so, and was a limited release. To all other members of the TF who own one of these yellow BN 50' box cars, please post pics - I would love to see them.

el rojo grande - that must have been so cool to grow up right alongside the Strasburg Railroad and RR Museum of PA!

Not quite right by it, but close enough we didn't have to think twice about driving 30 minutes to get there OR to the great little hobby shop on the way in Ronks, PA. That shop is long gone but a pleasant spot to remember. The owners separated most of my paper route money from me with Athearn and MDC kits. Upon retirement, my Father became a tour guide and ran a live model steam loco to illustrate steam locomotion at the Museum. To show my loyalty I will have to join toptrain and posting my Strasburg Athearn boxcar. It is a 50s style steel boxcar.

Here ya go RP:

I thought I had another one somewhere, but if I do I can’t find it.

Here’s another rare variation; Tyco actually got the lettering font and BN herald right on this one!

You know you're a Tycohead when you'd sell a kidney for a Yellow Tyco BN 50 footer!
(Gift of Walt, BTW).

Well, I have two. Kidneys. The first was a gift from Walt. The second was this Bachmann
knock off, but I made them give me back my kidney after I realized it was missing a stirrup
ladder below the door. At first they refused to do it, but when I started playing Auld Lang Syne
with my tuba, in front of their clinic, they relented, told me to keep the Bachmann, and returned
my kidney.
