I pulled my rare Tyco Gulf Mobile & Ohio GP20 out of the drawer for some action - enjoy this video of it hauling all 6 of my Tyco California & Hawaiian Sugar covered hoppers.

Fabulous set. Never seen so many C&H's in one place.
That GM&O is a fabulous piece.

Very cool set! That engine was someone's avatar back when I first joined the forum. It's odd how familiar it is, yet I don't think I've ever seen one outside that original context. Nice!

Thanks Chops and DaCheez! Yeah, I have found a few C&H hoppers over the years....

Yes, the GM&O GP20 is the rarest Tyco GP20 of all (2nd to only the red/silver Illinois Central GP20) and the scheme is by far, one of Tyco's best.

Just my opinion, but some of Tyco's best schemes (locomotive wise) are also their rarest: Northern Pacific RF-16 Shark, Western Pacific GP20, GM&O GP20, red/silver Illinois Central GP20 - even the Australian and Canadiana schemes are awesome.

Perhaps the best-looking paint schemes were also the most complicated, hence why they didn't make many? Or maybe the beauty lies in the rarity lol. Regardless, Tyco had some really sharp paint jobs.

I am trolling Austrailian hobby shops, AU feeBay, even AU Gum Tree, and only found a half melted F in VR.

Thanks wks!

Perhaps so, DaCheez. And I agree, Tyco did have some awesome schemes, and a pretty high paint quality on their model trains.

Chops - Good luck on finding those Aussie Tyco trains.
