The Varney Aerotrain set, from WKS, was bashed to take on an Athearn motor and split chassis and Hornby wheels to provide express services. It is not far off from being lettered for the Transcontinental Railroad, from the Ann Rynd book, "Atlas Shrugged." Personally, not one of my favorite novels, but it was well written and featured a massive express passenger train.

Great Aerotrain, Chops! I remember the kitbashing process - Is it still running well?
Here's the EVRR MOW train, featuring the most commonly used equipment, all of which were painted and customized by the Anderson Shops. MOW GP20 #62 "EVE" is hauling flatcar X21, "Big Hook" the Tyco wreck crane & car, and searchlight car.

Awesome sets! I love the streamliner, and you can't beat a full custom set.
