A very special train which ran only in New Jersey.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Comet

Ran from 1929 to 1941 from Jersey City to Atlantic City.
Beautiful train thru the New Jersey Pine Barrens.
CNJ luxury train in three hours for customer comfort.

If you had looked at the Wikipedia Blue Comet link I provided you would have found your answer Ben.

Small clip from that Christmas show you mentioned Ben. I never saw that show.

A special excursion steam engine trip on the route of The Blue Comet.

In 1967 after many decades of absence a steam engine train runs again thru the New Jersey Pine Barrens.

A trip down memory lane.

Wish they kept the whole train. Some cars exist in New Jersey and will be refurbished in the near future. We hope.

A gorgeous print I bought for a coworker a few years ago.

I am glad that I took a photo of the print before giving it to her.

The Blue Comet is one of the most spectacular pieces ever modeled, or ever existed in life.

Sorry we got cut off the other day, reception very peculiar in that stretch of New Mexico, particularly when crossing the Mescalero Apache Reservation, which is essentially a sovereign nation, as many reservations are.

I love the blue of the locomotive and rolling stock. I can definitely see why so many manufacturers have jumped on making models of these consists over the years, especially Lionel.Wish at least one of these locos were still preserved.
-Steve

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

It is a photogenic set. Some cars are renovated and others in the staging plans. Need a steam engine to complete it.

At least the models are available and photograph well outdoors like the original.

Still popular after so many years.
