Hello
First off let me say this ...this is a great forum !
and kudos to Tony Cook for the Tyco resource pages and
AHM pages ...they are excellent !

How did I get here ?

Well it started out with a 20 buck Ertl farm set that I bought
my 8 year old back in early June of this year.

My mother inlaw was cleaning out her basement and the kid came home
with a box of old Tyco trains ...the stuff was rough to say the least.
He annoucced to me he was "going to set it up around the farm set"

I knew by the condition of this stuff it would never work.
So I explained to him to give me a chance and Ill put a table
up downstairs and we will try to set it up.

I went on ebay and bought a Model Power Metaltrain Set for 50.00
and the carpenter foreman at the place I work built him a nice
4x4 table with legs and a drawer for storage.
I brought the track to work and he nailset it down on the table.

I later on bought him a Mantua 060 switcher and some other
misc cars. He is having a ball !

Last week the same guy who built the table presented me with a
large box of 70s era brown box Tyco trains.
They were his back when he was a kid and no interest in them.

The stuff is nice all boxed but some of the couplers are lazy
and I need the coupler box that holds the coupler on the front truck
of a Tyco diesel.

Oh and BTW I have been O gauge guy for the last 23
years and Im going blind the last month working on this stuff

Sorry for the long post
Bob

Welcome aboard Bob.
Most often, Parts for the older HO trains will have to come from a piece someone is parting out.
If you could discribe or post a photo of the coupler box or the locomotive I could look to see if I might have one.
The lazy couplers are usualy due to broken springs and are usually easily replaced. I may have a few couplers laying around.
