I'm double-dippin' on everything this week. Up first, this Virginian 2-bay hopper - unknown manufacturer.

Tyco Boston & Maine 40' box car

Couldn't help myself not to bid on this on a couple of weeks ago! I think the brake wheel being included made me do it. Not many flat cars come with the staff mounted brake wheel.

No, it looks like an old B&M before it was taken over by and repainted for the Capitol Coal Company.
I do love the B&M, before it became Guilford with that dreadful egomaniacal "G" on everything, then the oddly anachronistic "Pan Am," as if Lockerbie wasn't enough of a reminder.
Bagged a nice one, Walt, the brake wheel sealed the deal.

I was kinda thinking that, seeing some of Frank's posts on old Varney HO stuff. Wow...

At first I was going to suggest L-L as they picked up where Varney ended, but the sprung trucks suggested the original Varney. Very few people would have upgraded L-L with those older sprung trucks.
It's a golden oldie for sure!

From Chops and his army of mechanical armadillos comes this beauty:

Properly addressed to "His Royal Fogship" Sheer poetry Chops!!!

This will join two other passenger and 3 autoracks I have cobbled together quite affordably in spite of their ever upward-ratcheting prices.
Here's one from a recent train show

They're easy to open up and I do a little bit of detailing since they windows are so large.

And a few of them rolling out
