Well, we can put one mystery to bed. Was Tyco's rare line of "Deluxe" F7 models from the late 70's, the genesis of Mantua's rebirth? See for yourself:







Yes, they are EXACTLY the same! In those pics, you have no chance of knowing which came from what box, save for some inconsequential variance in the metal sheen of the fuel tank weights.

Both use the original Tyco F7 shell tooling, and both feature a screwed-together MU-2 drive, which makes maintenance much easier.



I greatly enjoy the presentation of the colorful Blue & Gray GN contrasted to the Orange & Brown Tyco box.... so the Mantua version is available. If there are no takers here it will go to ebay.
