Won this on Ebay tonight. I had this on my 70s layout. I still have the flat car in not so good condition... Decieded to replace it now.

Awesome piece, Walt, but you got one foot in the ditch.

Vive La Quebec, Canada's French speaking province.

A Pemco piece. Pemco was a break away renegade faction of Tyco designers who did not like
Tyco's descent into poor quality. This piece, like my other few Pemco gems, is basic, sturdy, and
runs fabulously well.

Reading RR piggyback car, made by Athearn.

Magnificent piece, fantastic shot. Those trucks appear to have live
springs. As you know, Piggy Back freight was really quite a new
concept about the same time that vintage piece dates unto. Now, as
we know, containers and Piggy Backs rule the rails, but not so
back then.

Funny, because in my 1970s layout collection, I really didn't like the piggyback flat that I had! Now I have at least 5 of each that Tyco offered!

Chops- did your camera fall over during the shot? Can you get a nice side view of that boxcar. Is that a 50 footer? I like those double doors- I don’t believe any other mfr did that same boxcar style during Pemco’s short run.

I'll see what can be done, LOL, I was trying to get a broader view
than a static side shot.

It is. It looks like a pretty copy copy of this double door boxcar, which may have been made in later years by MDC/Roundhouse, but at the time I think only Pemco made these.
