Hey Guys:

From observation or other knowledge; as in a trusted source, does anyone know if an end cab switcher; like an Alco S-4 or EMD SW1200 in building up a train or breaking one down in a yard, whether it's more likely to face the long hood toward the cars it's pushing/pulling or the cab?

Thanks,
Gareth

The local CSX switcher that brings the cement cars to our plant and box cars to the beer distributor directly across from us has had the switcher engine-lead-sw1500 hood to rear facing cars pushing them into our plant. It is always hooked up with an GP38 or GP40.

Hi Brian:

So long hood of the SW faces the cars as they are pushed?
