Hey Guys:
I find myself with a few bits of Lionel HO stuff, which I kinda like. A crane car and work caboose and two Hi-Cube 40' ers Ken is sending me and I'm about to get a CN Alco I hope.
Just wondered if anyone in our group was actively collecting Lionel HO.

I have a B&O work caboose and a few 40' flatcars that were made by Athearn for Lionel NYC, Erie and Pennsylvania (I think it was a derick car). A 50' flatcar (Auto Loader) A GT 40' boxcar, Dow tank car and a P&LE coil car (all 70s era) I don't have any photos of them. I also have a couple of diesel drives, one is from a U18B and the other is from an FA. Both marked made in Canada. I fit an Athearn GP7 shell on the U18B chassis and a plastic Varney F3A shell on the FA chassis. I also have 2 Huskies. One is Geardriven and the other is belt drive. I had to repaint the gear drive one, it has a few thick layers of paint on it.

I got a 40-45 foot sky-blue Great Northern HD flat w/ 4 trucks and logs. I don't want it. any takers?
John
oh, it's HO scale.
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

I have a small assortment. Two complete sets (the first set my dad bought when I was a kid, plus the special Chessie set with paper goodies), and a handful of other stuff I've picked up - all from the 1970's. The only 1950's one I have is a Northern Pacific GP9 with a stamping error by which the roadnumber was changed and stamped twice on one side (you can read both of them). I like the drive on that one and it runs too.
I especially like the first year of 1970's cars, as the boxes are the most colorful ever seen in HO. And the Lionel-tooled cars are nicely done.
I would like to find a CPRail U18B and Ontario Northland boxcar... not trying to complete anything there but I just like how they look.

Hi:
Gic, I may end up with a duplicate of the Ontario Northland car, I'll let you know? I forgot my Rock Island Husky, and Erie centercab!

I appreciate the offer but I'll have to pass. I learned a long time ago that the fun for me is in the hunt.

Looking at those Lionel boxes with a hangover would be very brutal! However ,Im sure thats what their marketing dept. had in mind so that they would catch you eye in the stores. Very neat set.

Any unwanted Lionel? Cool! I'm interested. Motive power run good? That'll be first.
