I live about 30 minutes away from the National Railroad Museum in green bay, I even once visited a couple years ago, just because trains are neat

wiki for reference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Railroad_Museum

yep, a big boy and an a4, and a whole slew of diesels

so now that my hobby train interests are re-kindled, I want to visit the museum again to explore a in bit more detail

anyone interested in anything there they'd like some pics of? I do remember being able to climb around a number of steam engines :) Now that I know the difference between a petticoat and cylinder drain valve, I am eager to see if I can identify them on the real thing

How about that tuscan red GG1? Or the Wisconsin Central GP30? I'd love to see what they look like now.

seen the Big Boys twice here
3 if you count the sister 4005 to 4004 in Denver at the Forney museum
need to see 4005 again since it's tender still has the scars from a major derailment

I read they have an extension collection of equipment there.
Worth the trip when things settle down. Lambeau Field nearby.

I googled the museum and one of the pictures that I found was this one
https://www.google.com/maps/place/National+Railroad+Museum/@44.4835366,-88.0479286,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m8!1e2!3m6!1sAF1QipOG6AzjxYbtrXDtVdUb0pVzoQ1f6BfcG69DJOBA!2e10!3e12!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipOG6AzjxYbtrXDtVdUb0pVzoQ1f6BfcG69DJOBA%3Dw203-h152-k-no!7i4032!8i3024!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x2780875068e55203!8m2!3d44.483318!4d-88.047861?hl=en
I am curious about the steamer on the right It looks like a DM&IR loco.
also I think the train on the left is an aerotrain right?

yes 4005 is the only Big Boy to have a major derailment
the engineer & fireman died on impact
Brakeman died of severe burns
happened on April 27, 1953
cause was a improper aligned switch
