My last day off before I have to go back to a week of night shift on Tuesday. Feeling a bit fatigued and listless, as is the hazard of night duty. By the time I start feeling half human again, it is time to go back to work! So, I pushed myself to shoot another video, this one with SD 9 that I hand painted and was fretting over how lousy the decals on the runny paint looked. From a small distance, it doesn't look half bad.
I spent hours trying to get the Tyco trollies to work, but they seem to be losing their zip, even after a good cleaning. Perhaps with a one amp transformer, instead of a half amp toy transformer, I might get them working well enough again, but for now, Armodilloville is without trolley service.
To that end, the SD 9, bought used off eBay for 20 clams, worked fine initially, but quickly ran down like a badly made watch. Seems that the durable Athearn motors have an Achille's heel, and that is the the carbon brushes that wear down with prolonged use. Luckily I had a spare BB motor, I don't know from where, that I was able to shoe horn in, and gave it new life. The old motor is doneski.
Without further preamble, "Bugging Out in Canada;"

Very nice Jeff. Seems from a few years ago that it was filmed.

| Nice video, Jeff. I enjoyed the CP rail train, and the colorful hopper on the other rail!
