Upon visiting Henning's Trains in Lansdale for the first time, I found a TYCO "Red Box Era" Santa Fe "Blue Bonnet" GP20, marked as running, for only $5. Sure enough, it works like a charm. After all, it's TYCO of course!

Nice to see that rescued Geep 20 finding new life! All you need now
is an ugly BNSF swatch to plaster on the cab!! Out of curiousity,
how did you find the traction tires, and is this an MU2 motor?

Nice intro, BTW.

I gave $10 for a Tyco Bicentennial loco with Prez Seal on it from a train show one year
seller said it didn't run but I tested it & it ran!
not great I admit but it did a few circles around the temp track I set up
now years later when I go thru all my boxes I hope it runs still!

Nice busss! I'm sure it will, as I believe the Presidential Seal C430's all had the MU-2 motor, as they were the first to be released of the Spirit of '76 C430's.

Chops, thanks for the vote of approval on the intro. I'll be adding that in every one of my videos from here on out, and it will likely change over time. This GP20 did have the MU-2 motor, and I didn't even service it before filming; I just put it on the tracks and it took off.
