Rumored for some time, Bachmann made it official today at the NMRA National Show in Detroit...
HO-scale RF-16 Sharknose A and B units are coming. No specifics and no pics yet, hopefully we'll see some shortly. These could be the tooling formerly used for the fine E-R Models Sharks. These new Bachmann Sharks will be EZ-DCC equipped.

| I thought the NYC Shark shells I saw in Detroit were "cigar band."

Haven't seen any pics of the new Bachmann Sharks yet. The NYC paint info comes from Bachmann's release regarding these models.
How did the new Sharks look?

What? No Rock Island, Northern Pacific, Burlington Northern or SP Daylight units? Boooooo!
Incidentally, Tyco's nose-mount numberboard was correct, and only so, for the B&O units. Would be funny if Bachmann left that detail off... then you'd have Tyco with the correct shell but wrong roadnames, and Bachmann with the right names but wrong shell [:P]

Sadly, no fantasy and/or what-if's from Bachmann...you may have to hope and wait for the possible coming IHC Sharks. I have done some non-prototypical paint schemes for IHC for the Sharks...maybe we'll see some interesting roadnames!

Well, so far that's all I've been able to come up with regarding the new Bachmann items presented at the NMRA National Show.
Just out of frame on the left is the new NKP Berkshire; in the middle are the new Sharks sitting just below the coming American Freedom Train GS-4 EZ-DCC run; next are most of the 2007 rolling stock new roadnames in Hoppers and 40' Box Cars; the last row appears to have the coming UP GP38-2 and the new Rio Grande GP35s; plus the just announced Spectrum Street Cars.

| As I mentioned on the Atlas Forum, on second visit to the show the Bachmann New York Central Sharks were clearly in the "lightning bolt" scheme! My apologies...

Bachmann put up pics this week of the coming RF-16 Sharknose A and B units. They look good...

Hard to tell at this point, but from the appearance of the coupler pocket on the B-units...these Sharks may close couple fairly well.
