Ken,
Have you seen one of the Hornby live-steam HO locos in action? How does it work? Is it true that it needs its own power supply and thus is incompatible with existing set-ups?

Hi,
I've seen a bit of a "Write-Up" on the HO Live Steam locomotive.
The energy used to make steam is electrical. As normal, the tender carries the water. The electricity is fed from the wheels to a heater grid in the boiler, as opposed to a flame/fire. Learn to control the application of power/electricity, and you'll have mini-horse-power at your fingertips.
Now, if this is no longer the method, I'd like to be up-dated.
Thanks!
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
