Here is my tyco new haven GG1 locomotive and some tyco streamlined new haven passenger cars. the tyco GG1s are known for being very unrealistic but I just love all things Tyco so I don't really mind. The locomotive Is a good runner and was on of my first successful restoration projects. The passenger cars are older tyco red box models they are quite a bit older than the GG1. unfortunately the forum is not letting me upload any pictures onto here but I do have a youtube video where I run the consist here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDRXrmBtduU&t=69s

The NH set looks great paired with the GG1, and the layout looks like fun. As unrealistic as Tyco's GG1 and streamliners may be, they do have a certain charm to them. I say this as someone who has collected a good number of Tyco passenger cars!
Here's my New Haven set with a Tyco Alco (I haven't yet found the F-units or GG1). BTW, to post photos you need to upload to a hosting site.

When I was about twelve, I witnessed one of the last operational GG1’s, dirty, black, with only a tiny CR logo on the nose, thundering South on the Northeast corridor pulling a dog train at top speed. It wasn’t a train, it was an event.
One of the reasons I like Tyco so much is they were not often trying to replicate a train or a structure, but rather capture the feel of a thing or a place. They got that spot on with their “G.â€
Your video is charming, opening with the Yeti and closing with the No Parking sign. The back ground music was spot on. Loved the three train lay out: lots of visual action.

That's a good way of putting it. You can plop a Tyco set in to a nice bit of model scenery and it will somehow look right. The proportions are wrong, the paint scheme isn't accurate, but the feeling is there.

Nice! On the topic of the new haven, I have always been a fan of the FL9. But rapidos is a bit (by that I mean A LOT!) out of my price range. So I have wanted to make one out of athearn locomotives. Oddly enough, this listing popped up.

This will serve as my main reference when I do eventually get the pieces to bash one. I saved all the images. Someday it will make a fun project!

Thanks! I took some inspiration from your retro tyco layout when building my layout!

Incidentally, the unit I posted above, I only know it as an F something or rather, is an AHM shell from the junk box grafted onto a Bachmann chassis, also from the junk box, at no cost.

Glad to hear that, Erik - really appreciate it.
Chops, I'm pretty sure that is a Tyco/Mantua F9 shell....however, it has been customized with those nose number boards.?
