Visually dramatic and what a roar of clickers-clack. Better than I had hoped. Must have run up the electric bill! Next step, splice in some operating accessories? Not to criticize, but did Tyco make a FRED?

LOL, yeah, the older MU-2 style motors are almost indestructible, but they do require some serious power.
Yeah, I'm definitely going to video some Tyco operating accessory action soon, so stay tuned.
FRED?

I think it stands for Flashing Rear End Device. It's that blinking light that hangs on the rear coupler of a train, absent a caboose.
He's teasing you about the lack of a caboose on one of your trains. Back when the CB&Q painted engines Chinese Orange, trains all ended in a caboose.

Yup. Loved the great Pure Tyco action, no less. Who does this??
May I make a request for your GG1 Amtrak consist running at night? You must have polished the wipers to make those coaches run without the slightest flicker. Mine blink like a theatre marquee sign.

Thanks, Chops! I appreciate it. And now I get the allusion.
As to a night-time video of the Amtrak GG1, I'll certainly work on it, and I appreciate the suggestion. I actually didn't need to clean the contacts on the coaches, and they did flicker a little. I think it might depend on how much they were used, as mine appear to have been mainly display pieces/hardly ran at all, by the previous owner/s.
