the 2 locos have or had problems
mth csx es44ac,non runner with broken handrails on one side and at front, front marker lights illuminate at low voltage, but flicker and go off as you increase the voltage

atlas f-m h-15-44 was a non runner, with working directional lights, but moving the jumper leads,it now runs very quietly again with directional lights in dc as thats what i use

will make handrails as needed

The white box may have something to do with DCC as I see the plugs in front of it, but I'm not sure

Nice locomotives, Ken. I have to say, that CSX diesel looks so "high-tech," that it has got to be fairly new. Do you know the age of that?

If you have any guys that work on these high end locos you could always give that a try. Or send it it to MTH but A. They are going bust, and B. shipping would be waayyy expensive!

If you still use horn hook couplers on Tyco/Life-Like (etc.) cars, the Athearn horn hooks fit in modern Kadee-compatible draft gear boxes so you can also backdate that loco to work with the oldies as well. Thought it was worth mentioning but I'm sure everyone already knows!

Of course though, if you were like me you would have converted everything to Kadees long ago. Awesome loco by the way, puts my derelict-looking but hard working Bachmann F-units to shame.

hi Heihachi_73 have never used hook and horn,i only use kadee/mchenry style couplings,in fact the ones that came with the loco, are electric uncoupling kadee style couplings, but will change them to kadee once converted, ken
