I'm gonna double-dip this week, with Ebay $5 scores.
The Tyco Mail Pouch Tobacco 50' box car
The Tyco Jack Frost 50' box car (my 2nd one)

Home run, over the backfield fence! Mail Pouch is a solid classic and I'd never known about the Jack Frost!!
It took a bidding war to land this puppy!
Here is the Bachmann knock off.
This one remains a bit of a mystery. Frame stamped Tyco, but has several unTyco like features that make's one wonder if it is perhaps an Athearn shell? The paint appears to be factory litho, no sign of decals.
My first in the quest for the Bubble Gum car was this, which is reliably Tyco:

Nice gum cars. Bazooka Joe is interesting. Not an Athearn- they never used side tabs on pluggers but those red trucks are interesting. I can only think of Athearn red trucks under their Illinois Terminal gondolas. Post some closeups of the chassis and trucks if you care to.

Right, but you do see the "Tyco" stamp just below the body mount, no?

I can see it, but it looks like somebody drilled and tapped for kadee pockets. Better than talgo couplers.

What is most interesting about that Bazooka 50' box car is the quality of the paint. Looks like a factory job....yet the body-mounted couplers and red trucks (which are Tyco's for sure) are totally not like Tyco. It is possible someone mounted those couplers and painted the bottom of the box car & trucks - but as for the actual box car itself, I have my doubts as to whether that is custom.
Chops, can you see any orange peel in the paint? Any signs of a custom job or paint spots/dripping? This could be a pre-pod, or else a REALLY good custom job.

The end sills are the same color as the roof. Otherwise no drips, no splashes. The bill board art shows no sign of decals. It appears to be silk screen, aka factory paint. I am stumped.

I have never seen or heard of a Tyco Bazooka box car in my 100 years of being a Tyco fan. I've never seen a Tyco car with the underside painted. Never seen body mounted couplers on a Tyco, nor wheel trucks being painted. I believe it's a nicely finished custom. It a neat piece however it come about!

It's a Cox shell with a Tyco underframe. The trucks have had the Talgo brackets trimmed off, and may be Life-Like or Bachmann. As already stated, the frame mount draft gear has been added.

The Tyco and Cox pluggers are identical, or nearly so. Tbe Cox "Champion Spark plugs" car is a common one. No branding on the chassis, though.

Hi Chops- Ma Fog says hello! The top and bottom cars are not Tyco- only the center one is. I’ll let people ponder a bit before I reveal “The Rest of the Story”

AHM ended up with the 62 foot Tyco boxcar molds for a while. but i don't know what the other brand is.
My COTW is a TYCO hopper I rebuilt with some 3D printed parts, it has a new end and hopper latch to replace the missing ones and a new brake wheel. My paint matching skills need some work it dried way to dark.

And Bamos is correct! Around 2000 IHC started producing these cars from the Tyco molds.

Somewhere I read that old molds never die- they just change hands.
Some of the Varney stuff from the 50s and 60s are still being cranked out under new names.

It was pretty common for kit manufacturers to lease or buy each others molds. Testors ended up with the matchbox molds which were the old Hawk molds after match box exited the kit business. They also lesed molds from Italieri. The Model Power dies are now at Lionel.
