Reminds me of the time my dad and I drove all the way from FL to NY to visit my grandmother. And in our old 2002 diamante too! We call it "The black bomb" or "The bomb" for short. After a beautiful excursion on the Great smoky mountain railroads Nantahala gorge line, we were in a hurry to get somewhere (I forget where) and asked for directions. Long story short, the person told us we could either take the back roads, or drive through the mountains. We chose to drive through because we were in a hurry. And what a mistake that was! Apparently the treacherous mountain climb was too much for the bomb, (no kidding!) And only when we decided to stop at a view area on the side of the road was when we realized the coolant overflow tank was cracked. We took it easy putting the poor bomb in neutral going down, building enough momentum to only step on the gas a little going up! The next day at our hotel, we patched it up with some epoxy. That epoxy is so strong, it still holds four years later.

Hey Chops I know how that guy feels my first car was a Mustang.
My AOTW is more like a tool of the week but it does make accessories I got a new 3d printer.
I can make my own TYCO brakewheels now.

Ben the resin I have does not have enough flex for trucks. If i can find a durable flexible resin then I should be able to. I need a couple pair of them myself.

My AOTW is going to be the three, 20 foot additional tracks I am currently adding to my layout. I have mounted one 8 foot long piece. I have yet to get to home Depot to get more screws for mounting. The new section is a different green and is 6-1/4 inches wide. 60 feet of more parking space!

Nice Walt your adding another scale mile of storage to the layout. The question is will it be enough? For the 6 axel trucks ive been looking at these from Athearn. http://www.athearn.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=ATH90407

Hey, Bill. Yes, i am pretty certain the three 20 foot rails will be enough. Theres room for a 4th rail but i wont put one that near the edge. I learned that the hard way as a kid. Nice 6 wheel trucks you are checking out! 😊
