My first COTW will consist of my big new Tyco Exxon Triple dome Tanker. It was in near-mint condition until Evilbay broke the wheelsets during shipping. I just removed the broken clips and bolted the wheelsets to the frame. It doesn't look too overly noticeable.

I have had only one bad experience on eBay where I didn’t receive a $13 flag but I could not blame eBay, I could only blame a negligent or fraudulent seller. eBay had done nothing wrong, nor did they know it even happened.

That's a beauty A-Aron. The fix is completely invisible.
Myself, I've had about a ten percent damage rate
with USPS. Oddly, if I send it insured it always gets
there intact.

Nice cars this week. A-Aron the tank car looks like it hasn't been repaired and It probably tracks better being bolted. Those caboose look terrific I cant even see the seam.

Sweet cabeese top train! Maybe I'll try that with one of mine!

Here's a set of 3 Athearn Pulpwood cars (I think) I got these in a lot from someone my mom knew, along with 90% of my other rolling stock. These will eventually be pulled by my MDC Shay, once I get it working right. on one side of one car, you can make out a decal that reads "ST JOE PAPER CO." I sure do wonder what life these cars had before I received them.

Thank you Bamos! I've noticed it does seem to track better. The heavyweight wheelsets on my Tyco Crane and a Bacmann heavyweight flat car derail constantly. Those things pick switches pretty badly too. I don't have much luck with switches though.

Check coupler pin height on those problem cars,
A-Aron. With horn hooks I just trim them back
by half so they don’t catch on switch rails. Kadee’s
Much the same, but require careful height adjustment.

The air hose on Blax’s pulp wood car appears to
Be skidding on top of the re-railed, by way of example.

Also, Tyco plastic wheels are sometimes out of round.
On select cars I will change out for metal wheels,
because of the cost, it is limited to just what you
Describe.

BTW, great journal boxes!

Yes, the real log loads certainly add to the cool factor!

Thanks for noticing that chops! I got about a million kadees in a bag for $3 a few shows back, and some air hoses had been fiddled with. This may be one of those. I'll try realigning it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! I am a diehard
X 24f man, myself. Kadee's way to high
maintenance for my clumsy fingers!

Uh oh, looks like you had a stuck button and overheated the solenoid coil. This is a common
problem with track mounted switch machines.

Nice kitbashing work, but why couldn't Tyco have made their streamlined caboose look
like prototype Pennsy N8 cabin cars in the first place?
