I have a few athearn cabeese where the plate under the coupler box thing is drooping, causing the coupler to not sit at the correct height. Is there a way to fix this? Not looking to do any severe modifications, but would like to fix this.

The plate has rectangular holes on the sides that snap over a tab on either side of the coupler box.

Check that the sides of the plate aren't bent out so they don't snap on snugly.

Look very closely on the sides of the coupler box for any flash on the plastic that could keep the metal sides from snapping shut all the way.
