I shall look forward to it.
I used to use the Google video app, but it appears they did away with it. Now I use Wondershare Filmora, which costs $60 a year, but it is fairly easy to use.

Welcome back!
I totally recommend getting a good digital camera to film trains on your layout. It doesn't have to be top-notch, but a digital camera will produce better videos than most cell phones.
As far as editing videos, I recommend MovieMaker. It is a 100% free download from Microsoft, and is easy to use. I have been using it ever since I starting creating videos 4+ years ago and have zero complaints.

I might switch to movie maker, but I have no good result with either Kodak or Samsung digital or movie camera, better luck With a smartphone.

If you've got windows, moviemaker, if you've got mac, imovie. I have a mac, (And HATE It.) But I love it only because of imovie!
I'm sure theres a download for imovie for windows though.
