of the El Paso Model Train Club. A lot of specific information is clouded by time, but some clues emerge, like the guy wearing the "Ft. Bliss Model Railroad Club" on his hat, which supports the idea that the first El Paso Model Train Club arose in or about 1950, post WWII at the military base.

Note that the kids layout is Marklin. Curious back story to that, a member passed away and left it to the club, then the widow wanted it back. The deceased member had been stationed in Germany for a while. There was a junior membership that was somewhat active, back in the '60's. This was the first casualty of the video game era. Trying to breath a little life into it now- often the parents, exhausted from a long day, are the ones tagged for transportation, complicating the issue. Most people are working longer and harder than twenty or thirty years ago.
