Here is another hobby of mine. Hit and miss gas engines. This my second one and bought it last Saturday. It's a Waterloo 2 1/2 HP from the late teen's to early 20's. It's what was used way before small air cooled engines came along. They ran everything. It's called hit and miss because how it runs. A governor lets it "hit" once and then "miss" several times. Cuts off the spark during the "miss" and the hit is when there is ignition. This is one of two hit and miss engines I own.
