You got a nice view of it, too. 
Here in Illinois, the crowd was so big it was hard to even get into a town it was in. 
It spent 3 days in West Chicago, about 5 miles from my home, and an estimated 45,000 people came to see it.
Here are some of the crowd:

It passed through my home town and crossed a bridge where it was above the crowd for a clear view:

It stopped for service in Rochelle IL, so I leapfrogged it to catch it passing at Franklin Grove a little further west:


I don't think anything short of the Second Coming will upstage it for popular excitement.

No such luck for me to see her on Long Island Railroad trackage. Then again Union Pacific never owned the Long Island Railroad.

The closest it will get east is probably Pennsylvania
That is pretty much what Ogden looked like
GREAT SHOT ON THE BRIDGE 
Nice to of the high shot Police in Utah were escorting people of a bridge
will post some of mine at some point though not as nice as theses Got some nice pics and vid at Chyenne (did not get taken of bridge there) BUT WHERE DID THEY HIDE THE BIG BOY!?!?!?!?!?

Seeing a Big Boy in steam, running fast on high iron, is as close to a religious experience as I will probably get! Nice pictures, cherish the experience!!
