Here's my LOTW offering:
Won this Tyco VIA - CN locomotive & caboose pair for a little over $20 on Ebay, a steal. However, the F9 will remain a project for an available day, as there are some disconnected wires....

An interesting and colorful road. I’d put it together just so you could put it on the shelf until maintenances.

Ditto to that, that is a real prime Tyco piece, yet again, had no idea it existed.

toptrain, As a former Pennsylvanian and having grown up in the sixties your DD-40 makes me nostalgic for the old PRR. What a beast!

Alco Fan, It was one of the largest diesels ever made. I never seen one in operation. I don't think that the Pennsy ever had one. With the book Pennsy Power 2 by Alvin Staufer being my reference book for Pennsy Diesels it is all I have. This big book is lacking because of no index. The way you find things is to just keep paging through it. So I only use it when sitting on my front porch with nothing to do but relax. I do not recommend this book to anyone who is in need of finding something out, but to one who wishes to casually glance through a book awaiting to be entertained by finding some bit of information of value within it. This book is chuck-full of information and detail and lots of good black and white photos, but no way of quickly accessing it. I did try to find a photo of a DD-40 in this book but all references are to Pennsy's way of naming loco types. No D-D truck type diesel is found in this book. frank

Toptrain I have that book, you’re right the Pennsy didn’t have a DD- 40 but I have a model like yours and at least one in another road that I can’t remember right now. I kept mine in the box cause it took the space of two Alcos almost on the shelf. All good fun!

| Nobody had a DD40. They were marketed by EMD, they never got any orders. Union Pacific bought the DD35, DD35A, and DD40AX. Southern Pacific had some DD35's.

Nice rig, Mike!! Love that back drop. Reminds me of downtown Hamilton, from back in the day.
