Think the Waltster was aiming for LOTW , but we all know what you mean! For a slot car empire, that there locomotives make a real fine addition.
I traded up my AHM Krauss-Mauffei for this NIB Con Cor MP-15 (that's what the box says). It don't haul more than three coaches, but she is a sweet little runner, and feel like I got a great trade from my bud, Roger the Dodger. Roger's a big fan of SP, ATSF, and DRGW, so we both came away happy.

Keeping with the switcher theme chops started, here's my LOTW: A 1958 built Alco T-6, originally built for the mighty Pennsylvania Railroad. She was retired by Conrail, and eventually made it to the Delaware Coastline Railroad. The Delaware Coastline operated over state owned trackage, and their contract was not renewed at the end of last year. On January 1st of this year, they ceased operations. Little old 19 is for sale, along with the rest of the roster.

Wow, interesting view of something I didn't even know was out there. Check out those journal box covers, isn't that the kind you had to open and check the grease and packing? Nice to see you back, Chevelle. I think I bought a bunch of stuff of you a few years back- it's up and doing the Tyco Tour.

RE: 19's journal boxes. Switchers tended to use regular old plain bearings instead of roller bearings, probably as a method of cost cutting since the loco wouldn't be on long hauls.
The Victorian Railways Y class locos also had journal bearings, and came with a twist - their trucks were actually taken from scrapped "swing door" electric passenger cars. The Y class was built in the 1960s but the "swing door" passenger cars dated back to the 1880s, with their powered trucks dating from roughly the 1930s when the 50-year-old passenger cars were converted from regular steam-hauled cars to electric multiple units (these cars almost made it to 100 years in constant service, the last cars being withdrawn in the late 1970s/early 80s along with the slightly newer "Tait" trains). Later in their lives (1990s), some Y classes did end however up with roller bearings but this was the exception rather than the rule. The later build Y classes were also the only locos in the world to have a 6 cylinder EMD 645 instead of the usual 567.
To keep with the switcher theme, I have brought Athearn B&O 9278 (Baldwin S-12) out of storage, showing off the old style journal boxes. This one was bought a few years ago as a dummy, but I believe this one was originally powered as it still has the gears in the trucks and on the axles but no motor or driveline, as well as solder blobs on the metal brackets above the trucks.
